re-caulked my bathtub all by myself!

Yup, you read that right! I re-caulked my bathtub! Last week it hit me… this bathtub looks kinda funky since the previous owner didn’t take care of the place to my standards… anyway. This bathtub needed to be re-caulked! I looked up some directions on what exactly i might need to do for this to happen! Looked and sounded fairly simple. So on thursday afternoon Clay and I picked up all necessary supplies! All the while, people kept telling me to just let Clay do it or to have him help. He even offered and insisted several times that he would take care of it. I, however, would have none of it! I wanted to do this little project on my own. (Knowing that if it turned out quite disasterously he would be back on Saturday to help). So Friday when i arrived home from work i began to plan for my attack! first i would pull out the old caulking and scrap away any of the little left overs. Then i would clean out the creases with bleach and then once over with rubbing alcohol and let it dry. Next would be to tape off the area and get down to business!
The process of pulling the old caulk took a bit longer than i had actually anticipated! it was a bit tougher! but then i found a paint scraper and a razor blade. Now we’re talkin! That was much easier! All other steps turned out relatively close to what I was expecting. Saturday morning i noticed a few air bubbles that had popped through, so i put a second coat of caulk on and it is done!
I did it! All by myself! My very first home-improvement project done solo! So to all the ladies out there who are unsure if they can do this or not… You can do it! have faith and the right tools!
